01What this page covers

This draft describes the FactNest website and app. The final policy will identify the operator responsible for your personal data and provide a working contact address.

The Coming Soon website has no registration, waitlist, or payment form. The app data described below is collected when you use those app features, rather than simply because you read this website.

02Information the app handles

  • Account information: a guest or account identifier, and information supplied by Apple or Google when you choose to sign in, such as an email address or display name.
  • Your discoveries: selected interests, language, facts, saved items, reading activity, and progress.
  • Conversations: questions you ask, completed AI answers, and context needed to continue a conversation.
  • Technical information: app and device information, analytics events, diagnostic reports, and operational logs used to understand usage and investigate problems.

A guest session is associated with an anonymous authentication identifier. Guest mode does not mean that no data is stored.

03Why we use this information

The app uses this information to personalize discoveries, maintain your library and conversations, synchronize signed-in activity, manage usage limits, and keep the service working securely.

Usage and diagnostic information helps us understand which features are useful and fix failures. The final policy will confirm the legal basis for each processing purpose and any consent or preference controls available at launch.

04Services that help us run FactNest

The current app implementation uses Google Firebase for authentication, data storage, backend functions, analytics, and crash reporting. Google Cloud Vertex AI provides text embeddings used by discovery features. DeepSeek provides AI generation and conversational answers.

Hosting providers may process request information such as an IP address, browser type, and request time to deliver the website and maintain security. Source links or externally hosted images may also cause requests to the relevant third-party website.

These providers process information under their own terms and the arrangements applicable to the service. Their relevant notices include Firebase privacy information, Google Cloud's privacy notice, and DeepSeek's privacy policy.

05Questions and AI processing

When you ask a question, relevant content is sent to the AI provider to produce an answer. This can include your question, the fact being discussed, recent conversation messages, or a summary of earlier turns.

Do not submit sensitive personal information or another person's private data. Provider retention, international processing, and any use of inputs for model improvement must be confirmed against the production account's terms before launch. This draft does not promise zero retention or that every provider excludes model training.

06Local storage and analytics

The app keeps local preferences and caches so language settings and recent content can be available on your device. It also uses Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics for usage events and diagnostic information.

The current landing website does not include advertising trackers or an analytics SDK. Hosting access logs are separate from app analytics. The final policy will specify any website cookies or analytics introduced later and the choices available to you.

07Retention and deletion

Your library and conversations are kept to support continued use. Conversations are retained until you delete the associated fact or delete your account data; they do not automatically disappear when you close the app.

Use Settings → Delete your data to permanently delete private guest or account data. Signed-in users verify their existing sign-in before deletion. The backend removes the authentication identity and user-owned data, and retries incomplete cleanup when necessary.

The app clears private local caches and begins a new guest session. Device preferences such as language may remain. Irreversibly anonymized aggregate analytics may remain as described in the product design.

Exact retention periods for logs, diagnostics, backups, and provider-held data are pending confirmation and will be included in the final policy.

08Your choices and rights

You can update interests and language, manage saved discoveries, and delete your app data. If you sign in after using guest mode, your guest activity may be linked or merged with the signed-in account.

Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of your personal data; object to or restrict processing; withdraw consent; or complain to a data protection authority.

A contact channel for privacy requests, identity-verification steps, and the applicable response periods will be specified before launch. This draft does not imply that a self-service export feature is already available.

09Security, transfers, and younger users

Authentication and access controls help protect private app data. No online service can guarantee absolute security. The final policy will describe relevant safeguards and any processing outside your country.

Minimum age requirements, any parental consent process, production hosting locations, and international transfer arrangements still need to be confirmed before launch.

10Contact and policy updates

The operator's legal name and privacy contact email will be added here before launch. This draft is dated October 6, 2026; that is a draft revision date, rather than an effective date for a final policy.

We will update this page when the service or its data practices change. You can also read the draft Terms of Service.
